For Frame Worthy on iPhone and iPad.
Frame Worthy finds the photo in a burst where everyone looks good, shows you why, and helps you clear out the rest. It suggests. You decide.
How it works
Frame Worthy finds the group photos in your library by itself: bursts, and shots taken seconds apart. Tap one, and the steps along the top of the screen take you through it.
- Pick. The home screen shows the group photos Frame Worthy found, each with its photo count. Tap one, or tap Pick manually to choose photos yourself.
- Photos. Check which photos belong to the group. Tap a photo to add or remove it. If you took more that day, Frame Worthy can scan the whole day for them.
- Video. If the group has Live Photos, Frame Worthy can stitch them into one video with sound, so every expression is kept before anything is deleted. This step is optional, and it only appears when there are Live Photos to use.
- People. Frame Worthy finds the faces. Tap a face to add that person to the group or take them out.
- Faces. Tap a person to see their face in every photo, with any problem Frame Worthy spotted. Mark a standout ★ Great, or a miss ✕ Not this one. Star up to three people who matter most. As the app puts it, "they count triple."
- Results. The photos are ranked, best first. Compare any of them with the top rated, choose what to keep, and heart your favorite. Nothing in your library changes until you confirm.
Frame Worthy never deletes a photo on its own. In the app's words: "Deletes go to Recently Deleted (recoverable for 30 days). Kept photos you didn't ♥ are left untouched."
What the symbols mean
- 😑 Eyes closed
- 🌫️ Blurry
- 🙈 Obscured. Something is covering the face.
- 😐 Not smiling
- 👀 Looking away
- 😜 Silly on purpose. A photo you keep for fun. As the app says, "faces here don't count."
Common questions
It says "No group photos found"
Frame Worthy groups photos by when they were taken, not where. It looks for bursts and for photos taken within seconds of each other, and leaves single shots out. Recent covers your newest 1,500 photos. Tap Scan 1,500 more photos to look further back, choose a year from the Recent menu at the top of the screen, or tap Pick manually and choose the photos yourself.
Frame Worthy can't see my photos
If it says "Photo access is off," tap Open Settings and allow access to your photos. If it says "Frame Worthy can only see the photos you've shared," you gave it some of your photos but not all. Tap Manage to add more, or allow full access in Settings, then Apps, then Frame Worthy, then Photos.
Someone is missing, or the wrong face is picked
On the Faces step, tap Someone missing? and then tap the face Frame Worthy missed. To remove someone who isn't part of the group, touch and hold their photo.
If a person's face is wrong in one photo, open that person, touch and hold the face, and choose Pick the right face. If they really can't be seen in that photo, choose the button that says they aren't in it.
It says "Someone might be hidden here"
The full message is: "Another photo shows more faces than this one — someone may be hidden behind a neighbor. Step through to make sure everyone's marked." Tap Check the photos to look through them, or Confirm anyway if everyone is already there.
I cancelled the delete, and nothing was favorited either
Favorites and deletes are saved together, in one step. When you confirm your results, iOS asks before anything is deleted. If you decline, nothing changes at all, and the app tells you: "No changes were made — nothing was favorited or deleted." Your choices are still on screen. Confirm again when you're ready.
How do I get a deleted photo back?
Photos that Frame Worthy deletes go to Recently Deleted and stay there for 30 days. In the Photos app, scroll down to Utilities, open Recently Deleted, and recover the photo.
Why didn't I get a video?
Frame Worthy makes a video only from Live Photos taken close together. When it can't, it says why, for example: "This group doesn't have enough readable Live Photos to stitch," or "These Live Photos were taken too far apart to run together as video." If it says some Live Photos haven't downloaded from iCloud yet, connect to the internet and try again.
Does anything leave my device?
No. There is no server and no account, and nothing Frame Worthy learns about your photos is sent anywhere. If you use iCloud Photos and a full-size photo is kept only in iCloud, iOS downloads it from your own library first, the same way Photos does. See the privacy policy.
